Excitement is at its peak, right? \ud83e\udd29 Now let&#8217;s see what awaits you in week 38!     <\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Highlights \u2013 38 Weeks Pregnant \ud83e\udd30<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\ud83d\udd25 <strong>Heartburn and reflux can be annoying!<\/strong><br\/> As your baby grows, it puts pressure on your internal organs, especially <strong>your stomach<\/strong> . This can lead to heartburn and reflux. <strong>Avoiding spicy and heavy foods<\/strong> can help you get through this process a little more easily. (Yes, don&#8217;t trust that famous &#8220;spicy food makes labor start&#8221; myth! \ud83d\ude05 )  <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\ud83d\udebd <strong>The intestines are also preparing for birth!<\/strong><br\/> Due to the effects of hormones, you may experience changes in your bowel movements, such as <strong>diarrhea<\/strong> . This is a natural part of your body <strong>preparing for the big day<\/strong> . Don&#8217;t forget to drink plenty of water!  <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\ud83c\udfe5 <strong>It&#8217;s time for a cervix check at the doctor&#8217;s office!<\/strong><br\/> This week your doctor or midwife <strong>can check to see if your cervix is opening and thinning<\/strong> . Even if it&#8217;s not opening yet, don&#8217;t worry, things can move quickly once baby is ready. <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u26a1 <strong>Lightning strike sensation in vagina and legs?<\/strong><br\/> If you\u2019re experiencing <strong>sudden electric shock-like pains in your legs, groin, or vagina<\/strong> , don\u2019t worry! Your baby <strong>is pressing on the nerves in your pelvic area<\/strong> as it\u2019s descending. This is a common sign <strong>that labor is approaching<\/strong> !  <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The countdown has begun for the big day \u23f3 , but the baby will decide when to come! So try to stay calm, rest and gather your energy. \ud83d\udc95<\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Baby&#8217;s Condition in Week 38 \ud83d\udc76 <\/strong><\/h2>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Your baby might be having <strong>a mini birthday party<\/strong> in your womb because he\u2019s almost done developing! \ud83e\udd73 <strong>He probably has some hair<\/strong> in the womb right now and is slowly shedding the white, slippery <strong>vernix caseosa that<\/strong> covers his skin. However, you\u2019ll still see remnants of this vernix when he\u2019s born\u2014especially in his folds! \ud83d\udc95 <\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>How Big Is The Baby At 38 Weeks Pregnant?<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Your baby is now the size of a winter melon! \ud83d\udccf <strong>Approximately 50 cm long<\/strong> and <strong>weighs 3.1 kg<\/strong> . An interesting detail: <strong>Its head and belly have almost the same circumference!<\/strong>  <\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>How Many Months Is 38 Weeks Pregnant?<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">You are exactly <strong>nine months pregnant<\/strong> ! \ud83c\udf89 You are now in the final stretch, you need to be ready for birth at any moment. You can hold your little miracle in your arms in a week or maybe a few weeks later!  \u23f3 \ud83d\udc95<\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>38 Week Ultrasound \ud83d\udcf8 \ud83d\udc76<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">You see your doctor every week now <strong>that you are due<\/strong> . You have an appointment this week too!   <strong>Your doctor will check to see if the baby is in a head-down position and if his or her head is settled into the pelvis.<\/strong>  \ud83d\udd0d If it has settled, you are one step closer to the birth process!<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">You will also be given <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/blog.mucizeanne.com\/en\/roof-inspection-during-pregnancy-what-is-it-how-is-it-done-does-it-hurt\/19580\/\" data-type=\"post\" data-id=\"6990\">a pelvic exam<\/a><\/strong> . The doctor will check your cervix for <strong>dilation<\/strong> and <strong>thinning<\/strong> . But <strong>remember<\/strong> , just because your cervix is dilated doesn\u2019t mean you\u2019ll go into labor right away. Likewise, <strong>you could go into labor the next day even if you haven\u2019t dilated yet!<\/strong> \ud83e\udd2f Labor is a completely unpredictable process\u2014exciting, but it also requires patience.   <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If your doctor <strong>wants to get more detailed information about your baby&#8217;s weight and general condition<\/strong> , <strong>they may request an ultrasound<\/strong> at 38 weeks of pregnancy. In some cases, <strong>a biophysical profile (BPP) test, which evaluates your baby&#8217;s breathing, movements, muscle tone, heart rate, and amniotic fluid volume,<\/strong> may be performed. \ud83d\udcca If your doctor decides that it would be safer for your baby to be born earlier as a result of the BPP, <strong>your due date may be brought forward!<\/strong> \u23f3 \ud83d\udc95  <\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Common Symptoms of 38 Weeks Pregnant \ud83e\udd30 \ud83d\udd25<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>There is very little time left until the birth!<\/strong> Your body is preparing to bring your baby into the world and you feel it. Here are <strong>the most common symptoms in the 38th week:<\/strong> <\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>\ud83d\udd39 <strong>Braxton Hicks contractions:<\/strong> <strong>It&#8217;s completely normal to have contractions at 38 weeks!<\/strong> If the contractions are not regular and go away when you change positions, these are <strong>false labor pains (Braxton Hicks)<\/strong> . But if they become regular, <strong>labor may be approaching!<\/strong> \ud83d\udebc \ud83d\udca5  <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\ud83d\udd39 <strong>Sleep problems:<\/strong> <strong>It is almost impossible to have a sound sleep at night due to both excitement and physical discomfort.<\/strong> \ud83d\ude34 To alleviate this a little <strong>, you can take a warm shower, drink a relaxing tea or do light stretching exercises before going to bed.<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\ud83d\udd39 <strong>Increased vaginal discharge:<\/strong> If you notice a thick <strong>mucus-like discharge,<\/strong> don&#8217;t worry! <strong>This could be the mucus plug falling off, which is a sign that labor is approaching.<\/strong> \u23f3<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\ud83d\udd39 <strong>Itchy belly:<\/strong> Your belly <strong>has reached its maximum stretch point<\/strong> and you may be feeling itchy due to the skin&#8217;s tension. But if the itching <strong>is accompanied by a rash<\/strong> , you should tell your doctor! <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\ud83d\udd39 <strong>Swollen feet and ankles:<\/strong> <strong>It&#8217;s normal to have swelling in your feet and ankles!<\/strong> Don&#8217;t forget <strong>to put your feet up and rest whenever you can<\/strong> during the day. Although there is no definitive symptom, your body may be sending you a signal! <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\ud83d\udd39 <strong>Contractions:<\/strong> Braxton Hicks or real labor? If the tightening in your belly <strong>is regular and becoming more frequent,<\/strong> labor may have begun!
