We have some mind-boggling information about what’s going on inside you, from what’s going on in your womb and placenta to what your baby might feel.

10 miraculous events that happen in the body while pregnant

The uterus grows 14 times

Yes, your uterus grows from the size of a pear to the size of a watermelon (and then shrinks again). The mucus and amniotic fluid in the uterus, which acts as a cushion for the baby, can weigh between 1.8 and 2.7 kg.

The heart pumps 50% more blood

Your heart beats 10 to 20 times per minute more than it did before pregnancy. This is to nourish the placenta and prepare the baby for birth. Now you understand why you get tired much faster during your pregnancy than during your previous period.

Baby hears voices

At the 18th week of pregnancy The baby’s ears will be fully developed and will most likely be able to hear your voice, the sound of a broom, and the barking of the dog. They hear you when you sing to the baby, and after birth, they can recognize the songs as extra comforting.

The baby may have an erection if it is a boy

Babies’ small reproductive system begins to prepare while in the womb. Between 20 and 23 weeks, a baby boy may have started producing sperm. At the same time, a baby girl’s ovaries and uterus are fully developed and have a lifelong supply of eggs.

The placenta takes over the functions of four organs

This organ, sometimes called the “tree of life”, is extremely complex and helps the baby expel waste materials, filters away harmful things, provides blood flow to the baby, and nourishes them. It literally works like a multitasking structure.

The baby can taste

Believe it or not, by the 20th week of pregnancy, your baby’s taste buds have developed and are learning to prefer the foods you eat. Some experts even believe that you can shape your baby’s taste buds by eating a wide variety of (healthy!) foods during your pregnancy. You’re probably already paying attention to what you’re eating, but here’s why that gives you extra motivation to order some of the broccoli instead of the fries.

Breasts begin to produce milk

Yes, milk production begins before the baby is born. Hormones trigger milk production almost as soon as you become pregnant, and at 20 weeks, the baby’s first milk (colostrum, a thin yellow liquid called a fig grain) has already been prepared. In the third trimester, you may notice leakage – a condition that can be resolved with breastfeeding pads.

The baby poops

As they approach the middle of pregnancy, the baby begins to produce meconium, a black and solid substance that they will expel soon after birth to fill the first dirty diaper.

The baby sees the light

By approximately 30 weeks, the irises are fully formed, which means that babies can see and even react to light. And surprisingly, it’s not always completely dark in your womb. If you lie in direct sunlight, you may notice that the baby moves to protect his eyes.

Baby cries

Are you wondering what it will be like to hear the first sound of crying? The baby is of the same thought as you. Ultrasound images showed that babies were crying and other facial expressions inside the womb. However, this does not mean that the baby is sad. On the contrary, crying is an important skill for the baby, as this will be the main way to communicate with you during the exciting first weeks.

[3441
2403
post-19667","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-pregnancy","tag-2403
["https://blog.mucizeanne.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/hamilelik-jpg-webp-1024x576.webp",1024,576,true
Discover the pregnancy process step by step!
