Weeks and Months of Pregnancy
A woman who becomes pregnant calculates that she will give birth after 9 months. However, experts track pregnancy by week instead of month. Many expectant mothers wonder how many weeks there are in nine months . A normal pregnancy lasts about forty weeks from the last menstrual period.
Weeks and Months of Pregnancy
A normal pregnancy lasts an average of 40 weeks. When we calculate 40 weeks as months, we see that we come across 10 months, not 9 months.
There are about 40 weeks in a full-term pregnancy. Considering that a month is exactly four weeks, this makes pregnancy lasting 10 months. The problem with this calculation is that it assumes that each month lasts 28 days. But most months last 30 or 31 days. Therefore, in some months there are 5 weeks.
Considering when you get pregnant, the calculation becomes more complicated. Although an exact date is not important to everyone, you can guess the date based on the test. When you test positive for a positive pregnancy, you are usually about four weeks pregnant.
A normal gestation process lasts from nine to 10 months. To provide clarity about your pregnancy stage and estimated due date, your doctor will track your pregnancy over weeks instead of months.
What is Trimester in Pregnancy?

You can track your pregnancy by months and weeks. However, the recommendation is to calculate over weeks. Pregnancy is evaluated in 3 periods. Each period is called a trimester. Trimester literally means a trimester .
First trimester
This trimester usually covers 1-13 weeks. This will be the shortest trimester for you. Most women don’t know they’re pregnant in the early stages of this trimester.
Second trimester
The middle trimester covers weeks 14-27. Many mothers say that this is the easiest and most comfortable trimester.
Third trimester
Your last trimester covers weeks 28-40. However, many women give birth before the 40th week, and some may become pregnant for another week or two.
Counting Weeks of Pregnancy

Your doctor will count your pregnancy over weeks to more accurately track your and your baby’s health.
When you go for the first doctor’s check-up, your doctor will tell you how many weeks pregnant you are and the estimated time of delivery. After your pregnancy week is clear, you can start counting from that day or leave this job to the miracle mother pregnancy tracking application.
