Week 29: Mommy, I’m Making Room for Myself and Moving a Lot! 👶💃
Hello, My Beautiful Mommy and Handsome Daddy! 💖
We’ve officially entered Week 29, and things are getting even more exciting inside your belly! 🎉 As I grow bigger, I’m running out of space, but don’t worry—I’m adjusting by stretching, twisting, and moving a lot! 🥰 My kicks and flips are stronger than ever, and I love exploring my little world in here. Ready to hear about everything happening inside this week? Let’s go!
My Size and Appearance

Right now, I’m about 39 cm long, which makes me as big as a butternut squash! 🎃 My body is filling out, and my ultrasound images are clearer than ever. You can see my tiny fingers, chubby cheeks, and little toes perfectly now! I’m looking more and more like the baby you’ll soon hold in your arms! 👶💖
What Am I Doing Inside? 🤸♀️
This week, I’m super active! As the space inside your belly gets tighter, I’m adjusting by stretching my arms and legs, turning, and wiggling around. Sometimes, I’ll even give you a big stretch when I feel too squished! 😆 You might feel my movements more intensely since I have less room to move freely.
I’m still sucking my thumb and touching my face, and I’m practicing my grip by grabbing the umbilical cord or my own tiny hands. Everything I do now is preparing me for life outside! 💕
My Sleep and Wake Cycles Are More Regular! 😴🌞
I’m developing a more structured sleep routine inside your belly! I have longer periods of deep sleep, and when I wake up, I move around a lot. You probably notice that I’m more active at night, just when you’re trying to sleep! 😆 (Sorry, Mommy! But I’ll be on this schedule for a little while even after I’m born! 😉)
Did you know? I might even be dreaming! My little brain is so active that scientists believe I could be having my very first dreams while I sleep. I wonder… Am I dreaming about you, Mommy? 🥰
My Kicks and Flips Are Getting Stronger! 🕺
Since my muscles and bones are stronger, my movements feel bigger and more powerful! You might even see my feet or hands press against your belly from the outside! 😲 As I grow, my movements become less frequent but more intense—so don’t be surprised if you feel stronger kicks and turns. 💪
My Eyes Are More Active! 👀
I open and close my eyes frequently now! My eyelashes and eyebrows are fully developed, and I can react to bright light shining through your belly. My little eye muscles are getting stronger, helping me focus and blink more easily. Soon, I’ll be looking right at you, Mommy! 😍
My Lungs: Getting Ready for My First Breath! 🌬️
My lungs are continuing to mature, and I’m practicing breathing by moving amniotic fluid in and out. These little exercises are helping me prepare for my first real breath when I meet you! Even though I’m still inside, my breathing muscles are getting stronger every day. 🌟
My Brain: More Complex and Powerful! 🧠
My brain is growing rapidly, and the connections between my neurons are multiplying like crazy! This means I can now:
✔️ Process and react to sounds more clearly (Yes, I recognize your voice, Mommy! 💕)
✔️ Distinguish between different tastes (Yum, what did you eat today? 😋)
✔️ Feel gentle touches on your belly (Daddy, keep rubbing Mommy’s tummy—I love it! 😍)
I’m also learning to control my body movements better, so my kicks and stretches are more coordinated now. Every new thing I experience helps my brain grow even stronger!
My Skin: Getting Softer and Stronger! 🛡️
I’m still covered in vernix caseosa, the creamy protective coating that keeps my skin soft and moisturized inside the amniotic fluid. My fine body hair (lanugo) is also still helping me stay warm and comfy in here! But soon, I’ll start losing some of my lanugo as I prepare for birth.
This Week’s Highlights! 🌟
✔️ I’m running out of space! I’m still moving a lot, but my kicks and stretches feel stronger because space is tight!
✔️ My sleep cycle is more structured! I sleep and wake up at more regular times, and I might even dream! 😴

Tips for Mommy and Daddy! 🌟
Mommy, we’ve made it to Week 29! 🎉 You might be feeling more pressure in your belly as I take up more space. Here are some ways to stay comfortable and energized:
💖 Practice deep breathing to help with shortness of breath.
💖 Use pillows to support your belly while sleeping (a pregnancy pillow works wonders!).
💖 Stay hydrated to help with swelling in your feet and legs.
💖 Eat small, frequent meals to avoid bloating and indigestion.
💖 Take short walks to keep your circulation strong and ease back pain.
Sleeping might be getting trickier now that your belly is bigger! Try sleeping on your side with a pillow between your knees to relieve pressure on your back. 🛌
Daddy, Mommy needs your extra love and support! 🥰
✔️ Help her relax before bedtime with a gentle massage or a warm cup of tea. ☕
✔️ Encourage her to take breaks and rest when she’s feeling tired.
✔️ Start preparing the hospital bag together—it’s getting closer to the big day! 🎒
✔️ Talk to me! I recognize your voice and love hearing you already! 💙
Next Week: Get Ready for More Surprises! 🎉
Next week, I’ll be even bigger and more aware of the world outside! My movements might change slightly as space gets tighter, but don’t worry—I’m still active and growing perfectly. I might even react to your belly rubs and pats more often! 😍
Get ready, Mommy and Daddy! We’re getting closer to meeting each other, and I can’t wait! 🎊👶💖
